With daily newspapers slashing their budgets and trimming their reporting staffs due to decreased readership and falling ad revenues, there has been a corresponding decrease in news coverage. Some important stories are missed. Others are undereported or ignored. The Newsmeister intends to fill this gap with the occasional breaking news story and investigative report, along with general interest stories and commentary on a variety of subjects. While Toledo and Northwest Ohio will be the primary focus of this news blog, The Newsmeister has long been a wandering soul, so archived and newly reported stories - and photographs - from around the United States and the world will also appear from time to time.
